Dignitaries, including the King, were deeply impressed at the premiere of Handel’s Messiah on 13 April 1742 in The Great Music Hall in Dublin. During the iconic "Hallelujah," they stood up out of respect for this impressive composition. The musicians of The Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands play authentic string instruments from the Baroque period, complemented by natural trumpet and timpani.
