Boat trip Enkhuizen - Medemblik

Hop aboard the classic ferry Friesland for a scenic trip across the IJsselmeer, which takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Weather permitting, enjoy the view from the upper or lower deck, or relax in the cozy lounge with bar. The boat departs at 10:40 AM from Enkhuizen, near the NS station.

Steam tram Medemblik - Hoorn

In historic carriages, pulled by a real steam locomotive, you’ll travel along the 1887 railway line from Medemblik to Hoorn. Along the way, you’ll stop at authentic stations such as Wognum, Twisk, and Opperdoes. In Medemblik, you can visit the bakery museum, Radboud Castle, or the Steam Engine Museum. Be sure to ask the conductor all about the steam trams!

Along the line

The railway line is uniquely complete, with eight original station buildings and platforms that have been restored to their former glory. At Wognum-Nibbixwoud station, you can get off and take a look at the old waiting rooms, offices, and freight sheds. This way, you can experience what it was like in the past.

The Steam Safari

For children, there's the Steam Safari: a treasure hunt full of fun tasks on board the boat and during the ride. Meet engineers, stokers, conductors, and other staff. Help out, ask questions, and discover all about traveling and working on the steam tram. An adventurous time-travel adventure for the whole family!
