Its current form dates from 1835, the result of a thorough renovation and expansion according to the wishes of André, Baron van den Bogaerde, who made Heeswijk Castle his residence and working palace. He is best known as the King's Governor in Brabant following the secession of Belgium in 1830. The Province has designated Heeswijk Castle as a Top Monument of Brabant, and it is open to the public 6 days a week.

Free parking is available on the N279 (navigation: Kanaaldijk Noord). Take the Heeswijk-Dinter/Schijndel exit and follow the tourist signs. The historic avenue leads you to the main entrance of the castle. A parking surcharge may apply during major events.
