More information
Prominently situated in the wooded Brabant countryside shines the monumental Heeswijk Castle, *the* Castle of Brabant. It reflects nearly a thousand years of power, pride, and culture of the Brabant elite. Experience the castle's thousand-year history: climb the towers, discover the opulent castle halls, and enjoy the castle garden and the surrounding estate.
Heeswijk Castle has a turbulent history dating back to the year 1080. Over the centuries, it has been frequently destroyed and rebuilt. Its current form dates from 1835, the result of a thorough renovation and expansion according to the wishes of André, Baron van den Bogaerde, who made Heeswijk Castle his residence and working palace. He is best known as the King's Governor in Brabant following the secession of Belgium in 1830. The Province has designated Heeswijk Castle as a Top Monument of Brabant, and it is open to the public 6 days a week.

Geweldig!
