Allwetterzoo is a zoo that reopened in 1974 as the successor to the old zoo in Münster. The architects' idea was to connect all the large animal enclosures with covered walkways, the so-called all-weather walkways. This gave rise to the name "Allwetterzoo". Currently, there are approximately five kilometers of paths in the Allwetterzoo, of which about one kilometer is covered. But there is much more to discover in this zoo.

For example, the feeding of elephants, which is unique in this form in Germany and usually takes place twice a day. You can also walk with the penguins or visit the parrots and monkeys in their enclosures. Moreover, many animals live in communities you certainly haven't seen before. So you often see multiple species at the same time. You don't have to walk far, as all the animal enclosures and habitats are in the immediate vicinity. And the best part is that with one admission ticket, you can visit not only the zoo but also the Seal Harbor and the Westphalian Horse Museum in the Allwetterzoo – as often and for as long as you like. So it is definitely worth visiting this zoo in any weather!
