Europe's longest Christmas diorama
Stroll past the impressive Christmas diorama, the longest in Europe. Here, you can see in the smallest detail how the biblical Christmas story comes to life with handmade figurines and miniatures. Highly recommended to take a moment to enjoy together.

At the Cave Workshop, you can make your own Christmas creation from marl for free. From a Christmas arrangement to a small tree: a fun and personal keepsake of this special day.

Velvet Cave Christmas Market

From 13 November , the famous Velvet Cave Christmas Market in Valkenburg opens its doors for the 27th time. Step into the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas Town Valkenburg. You start in the cosy outdoor square before descending into the centuries-old cave, where the Netherlands' largest indoor Christmas event takes place. The Christmas market is internationally renowned and filled with atmospheric stalls offering Christmas decorations, unique gifts and winter treats. As you follow the route, you will be surrounded by twinkling lights, festive decorations and the magic of the cave. A visit to Valkenburg during the Christmas season is not complete without this special experience, considered by many to be the most beautiful Christmas market in the Netherlands.
