Admission ticket to A Seal Stellendam

At A Seal Seal Rescue Centre Stellendam, you will discover the world of seals and see up close how the animals are taken in and cared for. A Seal takes in weakened, orphaned and sick seals found along the Zeeland and South Holland coasts, among others.

During a visit to the visitor centre, you will learn more about seals, their habitat and the journey they make before they are strong enough to return to the sea. You can see how the animals are cared for and fed, and gain an accessible insight into the work of a seal rescue centre.

A Seal is suitable for families, children, animal lovers and anyone who would like to learn more about seals and nature. What's more, your visit directly contributes to the work of the seal rescue centre. This combines a fun and educational day out with supporting the rescue and care of seals.

Seal rescue

At A Seal, seals are taken in and cared for. These are mainly young seal pups that have lost their mother, or seals that are injured or sick. Once the seals are fully healthy again and able to survive in the wild, they are released. Before that happens, the seals go through (or rather, swim through) a kind of step-by-step plan:

• Step 1: Seal in distress
• Step 2: Quarantine
• Step 3: Regaining strength
• Step 4: Preparing for release
• Step 5: Release
