Highlights
There are several highlights of Dutch history to admire on the grounds of the Hunebedcentrum. The largest dolmen in the Netherlands is, of course, the most important highlight. It is the oldest monument in the Netherlands, and it is no coincidence that history education in the Netherlands begins with this subject.
Other highlights you should not miss include the home of a dolmen-builder family, the fields where they grew their grain and other crops, the funnel beaker and the polished axe. Naturally, there is much more to see at the Hunebedcentrum, but you should definitely see these 5 highlights.
Drenthe has been declared the Netherlands’ prehistoric province. A visit to the Hunebedcentrum is essential for discovering this ancient world. Discover Drenthe and start at the Hunebedcentrum.
